Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Ashwood Care Ltd
This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps Ashwood Care Ltd has taken to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.

a. Our Organisation’s Structure, Business, and Supply Chains

Ashwood Care Ltd is a UK-based domiciliary care provider, delivering personalised care and support services to adults in their own homes. We operate locally within [insert regions, e.g., Essex and surrounding areas], and our supply chains include third-party providers of PPE, recruitment services, IT software, training, and facilities management.

b. Policies in Relation to Slavery and Human Trafficking

We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings. Our policies, including our Modern Slavery Policy, Whistleblowing Policy, and Ethical Procurement Guidelines, are designed to prevent slavery and human trafficking from occurring within our organisation or our supply chains.

c. Due Diligence Processes

Ashwood Care undertakes a risk-based approach to due diligence of suppliers. All new suppliers are subject to pre-qualification checks, including confirmation of their own Modern Slavery Act compliance. Where risks are identified, we seek additional documentation or certifications before engaging services.

d. Risk Assessment and Management

The nature of our services and the UK-based scope of our operations means the risk of modern slavery is considered low. However, we remain vigilant, particularly in areas such as third-party staffing and outsourced procurement. We assess the risk of modern slavery as part of our annual compliance audit.

e. Effectiveness and Performance Indicators

We monitor the following indicators to assess our effectiveness in combatting modern slavery:

  • Staff training completion rates on safeguarding and ethical practices

  • Incidents reported via the whistleblowing process

  • Supplier compliance documentation (100% submission rate required)

  • Annual review and update of our modern slavery risk register

f. Training and Capacity Building

All new staff undergo safeguarding training, which includes a section on recognising and reporting modern slavery and human trafficking. Managers receive enhanced training on spotting risks in both recruitment and supply chains. Additional refresher sessions are delivered annually.
